The Magnopro system has a signal generation unit for generating an electromagnetic signal having a plurality of superimposed frequency components of approximately 300Hz, 600Hz, 800Hz and 1,000Hz (so called Basic Signal) and between 2-32Hz (so called User Signal). Different induction coil applicators are connected to the signal generation unit and emit a pulsating magnetic field in accordance with the electrical signal.

The fundamental frequency components discussed above are primarily responsible for initiating the biochemical processes within the body, for increasing cell membrane permeability and re-establishing normal potentials to damaged cells. In particular, these high frequency components (300-600-800-1000Hz) are primarily responsible for providing an improved calcium cascade effect within the cells, where Ca 2+ ions penetrate cell membranes. These high frequency signals alone can provide beneficial treatment effects.

Further in each treatment program a range of particular low frequencies is added, in the range from 3 to 32 Hz. (typically within the range of frequencies of the human electroencephalogram (EEG)). These frequencies are chosen in accordance with a desired treatment mode of operation. The frequency bands of the human EEG are as follows:

Brain wave Patterns:

Beta band: >13 Hz
(Walking, Active, Tense)

Beta 1: 14-18 Hz
Beta 2: >18 Hz

Alpha band: 8 - 13 Hz
(Relaxed with closed eyes)

Theta band: 4-7 Hz
(Sleep, Meditation, Dreaming)

Delta band: 0.5 - 3.5 Hz
(Deep Sleep, Trance, Deep Hypnosis)

The human brain is sending to all parts of the body chosen low frequency components (between 0.5 and 32Hz) to steer and guide the body to function in a normal and healthy way. Certain high frequencies will activate the calcium cascade effect within the body cells.

Consistent with the basic principles expressed, a number of therapeutic programs, based on various low frequencies and durations of user signals, combined with the basic higher frequencies (300-600-800-1000Hz), have been devised. Each of these programs is directed to specific physiological areas, as where determined by testing, as follows:

1. Vitalization / Blood Circulation
2. Relaxation / Sleep
3. Vigilance / Activation
4. Discomfort
5. General Recovery / Prevention

Program 1. Vitalization / Blood Circulation
The Basic Signal is 100% prominent during the whole treatment. The User Signal is initially chosen to activate frequencies in the Beta band and thereafter frequencies in the Alpha band (down wards).

Program 2. Relaxation / Sleep
The Basic Signal starts the treatment at 10% and will decrease to 5% towards the end of the treatment. The User Signal is initially chosen to activate frequencies in the Beta band, then Alpha band, and then Theta band and as last, partly the Delta band (down wards).

Program 3. Vigilance / Activation
The Basic Signal is 100% prominent during the whole treatment. The User Signal initially chooses to activate frequencies Theta band, then Alpha and then the Beta 1 band (up wards).

Program 4. Discomfort
The Basic Signal is 100% prominent during the whole treatment. The User Signal initially chooses the Beta 2 in the frequencies 32Hz down wards in steps of 2Hz's to 20Hz, then the frequencies in Beta 1 down wards to 14Hz and finishing with the Alpha band and partly the Theta band.

Program 5. General Recovery / Prevention
Initially, in Program 5, the signal chosen is 15 minutes of the Relaxation Program down wards (see program 2) and then 15 minutes of the Activation Program up wards (see program 3).
